Mar 26, 2006 - Evidence of former P&N electrification         
This abandoned substation is located downhill from the CSX tracks near the Enoree River viaduct. I'm not sure what this substations purpose being down there, but the de-energized lines run up the hill to the also de-energized lines that follow the P&N a ways. Another power station was located a mile south of this one near the now gone Taylors P&N station.

Pat Huemmer General Did the P&N use AC or DC for propulsion current? The three bottom sets of insulators is a main breaker for three phase and would be used to isolate either a motor-generator, a phase convertor, or a single phase transformer connected to it, depending on what they were feeding to the catenary. 3/27/2006 7:33:20 PM
