SAL double track signal
This is the tallest SAL double track signal assembly I have seen anyhere along the S line from NC to Florida. I sure would hate to be the signal maintainer working on this one! Believe it or not, this is the end of 3.4 miles of double track that extends from the north at Hoffman (S-238.3) to Marston (S-241.7). No 1 track is the jointed rail line on the right, No 2 is the welded rail to the left.

Tim Huemmer General What the heck?? 3/7/2005 7:26:12 AM
Eugene Cain General Used for distant visibility...we have a few in Columbia, SC and Savannah, Georgia still in use. What direction is this looking??? The 4400 Volt powere Supply was in the 2 wires on the top of those poles on the right. Looks like the Pole Line has been removed on the left. 10/10/2012 12:00:39 PM

Carter Buchanan General This was looking southbound toward Hamlet. These signals are now history. Glad I made the effort to photograph these. 4/10/2016 2:45:20 AM
