Old dragging equipment detector |
Description: |
This old dragger at Ada, OH looks to be abandoned, but I have since found out from someone familiar with the area that it is still in service, with the computer stuff located in a relay case next to the old PRR signals behind me. |

Looking westbound |
Description: |
Pennsy signals are turned at Ada and still stand in rule D-251 fashion unlike many signals I have seen on this line that were bi-directional. The tracks are on the former eastbound main (track 1) here, the westbound main was removed sometime in the mid 1980's. |

Looking eastbound |
Description: |
Looking toward Pittsburgh in this scene are the turned PRR signals and remnants of the old codeline poles. I bet this had to be a cool place to see the Pennsy's finest passenger fleet and TruckTrain's passing through at speed. I'm on the eastbound main, you can see where the westbound main used to be. These should be the original D251 signals that were retrofited to be ABS signals for the single track operation until Amtrak left in 1990. |

Looking eastbound west of town |
Description: |
We are west of Dunkirk at this point. I don't remember the road name in the distance. Original Pennsy jointed rail still exists here on what is the old westbound track. This had to be a rather bouncy ride on the Amtrak Broadway and Capitol Limiteds esp if they ran 70 to 79 mph on this track? NYC style G head signal looms in the distance for the diamond with the Central in downtown Dunkirk. |

Looking west on the PRR |
Description: |
The mainline has apparently reverted back, briefly, to the eastbound side at the diamond with the NYC. Did the PRR call this tower "KIRK"? PRR signals still grace this location albeit approach lit. |

Station sign "KIRK" |
Description: |
This was a intresting station sign as I look eastbound. Is this the absolute permissive block sign that CR used to dispatch this line? |

PRR style crossing protection |
Description: |
This old school looking crossing protection looks to be originally installed by the Pennsy. Plenty of room for the former eastbound mainline between the sidewalk crossing gate and the track currently used by the CF&E.....whenever they run. |
