After roughly 50 years of service, the Southern Railway installed signals from the 1960's are gone. The mayor of Easley was talking to the signal people about the old signal heads and seeing if it was possible to obtain them. I sure hope they can get them! |

Southern built a lot of signal bridges using old 40 ft boxcar underframes, such as this one. This signal bridge survived a derailment at this location sometime in the late 1980's leaving the dent in the structure you can see midway up in the steel. |
